1 dead, 1 injured after shooting in Long Beach

One person was killed and another injured in a shooting in Long Beach early Sunday morning.

According to Long Beach police, it happened just before 2 a.m. in the 2600 block of E. Ocean Boulevard. Officers were first called to the area due to reports of “unknown trouble,” the statement said.

They arrived to find the first victim, as yet unidentified, with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds to the upper body. He was rushed to a nearby hospital by paramedics.

“During their investigation, officers located a second male victim nearby with a gunshot wound to the upper body,” police said. The victim, also unknown, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators have not provided information on a motive or possible suspect involved in the incident.
