One person was injured in a fire at a motel in Santa Monica on Saturday.
The fire was reported a little after 12:34 a.m. at the Holiday Motel & Suites in the 1100 block of Pico Boulevard, according to the Santa Monica Fire Department.
Firefighters were able to contain the blaze to just one unit and extinguish the flames within 10 minutes using an “aggressive attack”.
However, one person who “narrowly escaped the fire was found by police officers in the alley with moderate burns and smoke inhalation.”
It was not immediately clear whether that person was hospitalized with the injuries sustained.
The cause of the fire is not yet known, but an investigation will be carried out on Sunday.
