Check those tickets! A $1 million winning Mega Million ticket was sold in Massachusetts.

The ticket was sold at the Norwood Central Market Gulf/Ghafour Fuel, located at 145 Broadway in Norwood, and drawn in Friday night’s drawing.

The store will receive a $10,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.

The Mega Millions jackpot for the Tuesday, December 17 drawing is an estimated $740 million.

The cash option on the prize is currently estimated at $342.9 million. If achieved, the $740 million jackpot would be the eighth largest in the game’s history.

Tuesday’s drawing is the 28th since the jackpot was last awarded on September 10, when a ticket sold in Texas won an $810 million jackpot.

Mega Millions tickets cost $2 each and can be played in 45 states, Washington DC and the US Virgin Islands. Tickets for Tuesday’s drawing can be purchased at Mass Lottery stores across the state until 10:45 p.m. Tuesday.

The drawings are held every Tuesday and Friday at 11:00 PM in Atlanta, GA.
