1 person dead, 4 injured in drive-by shooting at Garfield Park

One person has died and four others were injured after a drive-by shooting Sunday morning in Garfield Park.

Chicago police said the shooting happened at 2:07 a.m. in the 4000 block of West Washington Boulevard. Police said they were responding to reports of a person shot but found multiple gunshots at the scene.

A 40-year-old woman suffered multiple gunshot wounds to her body. Police said they went to the Mt. Sinai Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

A 38-year-old woman was shot in the buttocks and was transported to Stroger Hospital, where she was admitted in fair condition. A 39-year-old man was shot in the arm and was also taken to Stroger in fair condition.

The fourth victim, a 38-year-old man, suffered a gunshot wound to his thigh and was transported to Stroger in fair condition. A 42-year-old man was shot in the leg and foot and was taken to Mount Sinai in fair condition.

One of the victims told officers that the person who fired shots during the shooting was in a vehicle, police said.

Police say no one has been arrested and they are investigating the shooting.
