The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the heartbreaking shooting death of an 18-month-old child.

Officials said around 11:45 p.m. on Sunday. On September 3, Flagler County officers responded to a home on Ranwood Lane in Palm Coast after a panicked 911 call reported that a baby had been shot.

Once on scene, officers found an 18-month-old girl with a gunshot wound to the head. The child was taken to a local hospital, where she died of her injuries.
