3 hospitalized in downtown Dallas shooting; no suspect in custody, police say

Three people were hospitalized Thursday after a shooting in downtown Dallas, authorities and media said.

At approximately 12:15 p.m., officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 1800 block of Commerce Street.

Three people were found shot to death at the scene, police said. The victims were taken to local hospitals, but their conditions were unknown, police said at a news conference Thursday afternoon.

According to the police, no information is available about the suspect.

Call logs show the location matches that of the Continental Building next to the AC Hotel, Star-Telegram media partner WFAA-TV reported.

Residents of the Continental Building told the Dallas Morning News they heard multiple gunshots. Dayana Bailey, who has lived in her apartment at the Continental for three years, said she saw blood in the hallway and elevator when she left her apartment, the Morning News reported.

She plans to terminate her lease immediately, she told the Dallas newspaper.
