San Bernardino County officers seized 51 truckloads of marijuana in a drug bust this week.
The Monday morning operation took place on a five-acre property in Oak Hills’ Mojave Desert neighborhood. After serving a search warrant in the 5000 block of Honeyhill Road, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Marijuana Enforcement team encountered a large metal building.
Inside, they found more than 3,000 garbage bags, stacked about 10 feet high, all filled with marijuana. Deputies said each bagh weighed approximately 30 to 50 pounds. In total, the approximately 90,000 pounds of drugs were worth more than $100 million.
With help from San Bernardino County Code Enforcement and California Fish and Wildlife, officers spent the next two days loading and unloading each of the 3,000 bags of trash.
Despite the seizure, officers have not arrested anyone yet. However, the investigation continues.
