With several Frisch’s Big Boys in the area beginning to close their doors, one couple decided to celebrate their wedding anniversary.

As reported on Saturday News Center 7 at 11amDavid and Ruby Crews had been planning this day for over a year, but had to move the date up from their actual anniversary.
That’s because they heard Kettering Frisch’s would be closing soon.
“(It) hurts me. It hurts me so much,” David said.

As previously reported by News Center 7, four additional Hamilton County Frisch restaurants are ordered to close during eviction hearings.
Six other locations in the area closed last week, including one in Troy.
Frisch’s is also being sued by FC-Cincinnati. They said the restaurant is owed more than $150,000 in connection with unpaid sponsorships.
David told News Center7’s Malik Patterson that he remembers their first date like it was yesterday.
“I forgot my wallet, she said, that’s okay, I’ll pay for it. So she paid for the first date. So then I pay from then on,” David said.
Three weeks later, David popped the question to Ruby.
Time has flown by since then and some of it was spent at Frisch’s where it all started.
‘He didn’t really have time to get used to me in three weeks, you know. But it’s been over fifty years. I can say we are blessed,” Ruby said.
With family and friends nearby, they were able to renew their vows for the first time on Saturday.
“Preserve her sickness and health, forsake them all, cleave to her alone, while you are there?”
“I certainly will.”
Patterson also spoke with family members on Saturday.
“A good example of what it takes to last 50 years. I’ve seen them all my life, you know, and how they handled situations.
