Dec. 7 – Regional motorists, workers, police officers and firefighters all faced a wide range of challenges this week as snow lashed Ashtabula County.
The amount of snow, up to one and a half meters in some places, caused people to get creative to clear snow from driveways and even main roads.
The Ohio Department of Transportation sent additional crews from other counties to clear main roads so the city’s snow clearing crews could eventually get to side roads.
Many area residents went out of their way to help the elderly, stuck motorists and neighbors who needed help.
Area small businesses had to return to Small Business on Saturday after the snowstorm shut down traffic last week, and Bridge Street merchants have rescheduled events for today.
