Two people were killed and four others were injured early Monday morning after a crash involving two tractor-trailers and a minivan on Interstate 78 in Lehigh County, Pennsylvania, according to state police.

I-78 reopened around 11 a.m. after the state police investigation closed the highway for several hours.

State police said the crash occurred shortly before 5 a.m. at mile marker 61.6 on I-78 east in Upper Saucon Township.

State police said two tractor-trailers and a Toyota minivan were involved in the crash. Investigators said three people were outside the minivan and tried to push the vehicle into the right lane. One of the people pushing the minivan and the driver of one of the tractor-trailers were killed, state police said.

State police said three people were rushed to Saint Luke’s Hospital Fountain Hill and another to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest due to their injuries. Their circumstances are unknown.

The investigation is still ongoing.
