CHICAGO (CBS) — Firefighters responded Wednesday to reports of a small electrical fire at the Cook County Building and City Hall, which share the same building in the Loop.
Shortly after 11:30 a.m., several fire trucks and ambulances attended the fire. According to unconfirmed reports, there was a small electrical fire in a third-floor mechanical room on the county side of the building, at 118 N. Clark St., with light smoke on the fourth floor.
At the time, the Chicago City Council met on the city side of the building. The meeting was interrupted when security officials ordered everyone to evacuate the council chamber and move to the lobby of City Hall.
No injuries were reported and no flames or smoke were visible from outside the building.
