Luck was no match for Friday the 13th as there was no winner of the Mega Millions jackpot.
According to the Mega Millions website, the jackpot will now rise to an estimated $740 million with a cash option of $342.9 million for the next drawing on Tuesday.
It will be the eighth largest Mega Millions ever and the seventeenth largest US lottery jackpot (see lists below).
The jackpot was last won on September 10 when a lottery player in Texas won $810 million – the seventh largest Mega Millions ever.
Three tickets win prizes of one million dollars
Although no one had all six numbers, four tickets sold for Friday night’s draw had all five white balls to win second-tier prizes.
A ticket sold in Vermont won the Megaplier $3 million, while tickets sold in Massachusetts and New York won $1 million each. A ticket sold in California fetched $359,992 because the state bases non-jackpot prizes on actual sales in the jurisdiction.

The cost is $2 per ticket, but you can add the Megaplier for $1, which increases the amount of your potential prize up to five times the original prize (except the jackpot).
Each player selects five numbers from 1 to 70 for the white balls and one number from 1 to 25 for the Mega Ball. However, you can also let the lottery machine generate a random Quick Pick for you. You do not have to be a U.S. citizen or resident of any state where you purchase your ticket.
