The St. Lucie County Christmas Boat Parade scheduled for tonight has been canceled and the Martin County parade has been modified due to weather conditions, officials said today.
The cancellation of the St. Lucie County parade comes as a small craft advisory is in effect with easterly winds of 15 to 20 knots.
Dan Romence, president of the Marine Industries Association of the Treasure Coast, said today that organizers hope to move the St. Lucie County event to Dec. 21.
Meanwhile, the Martin County Christmas Boat Parade route has been adjusted to include the Manatee Pocket area only, Romence said.
Lauren DeLuca, chairman of the Martin County Christmas Boat Parade and vice president of the Marine Industries Association of the Treasure Coast, said the event will start at 6 p.m.
Good places to watch the Martin County parade include Sandsprit Park, 2 Georges Dockside Grille and The Pearl, according to DeLuca and Romence.
