Fatal DUI crash on OBT

A drunk driver of a 2016 Lexus was traveling southbound on the Orange Blossom Trail when he struck a pedestrian, causing a fatal crash on the main road.

Alyssa Winters (26 years old) was driving south of Skyview Drive and was in the center lane. Another pedestrian was walking east-west into the southbound lanes of S. OBT.

The pedestrian entered the direct path of the 2016 Lexus without using a marked crosswalk and as a result, the front of the vehicle struck the pedestrian.

The driver remained on scene while the injured pedestrian (adult female) was transported to ORMC and later pronounced deceased.

Updates will follow once FHP has positively identified the deceased woman. This crash is still under investigation. However, Winters was arrested for driving under the influence.
