A small earthquake with a magnitude of 3.9 shook the Central Valley early Monday evening.
The earthquake struck southwest of the small town of Westly in Stanislaus County around 5:15 p.m., according to the US Geological Survey.
The earthquake occurred at a depth of just over half a mile. Data from the USGS indicated that minor tremors were felt in Modesto and Stockton to the east and north, with reports of weak tremors as far away as San Jose and parts of the East Bay, including Livermore, Tracy and San Leandro.
So far there have been no reports of damage from the earthquake.
