Anaheim detectives are seeking information about the deadly shooting in January

Police are seeking more information about a fatal shooting that occurred in Anaheim in January.

According to Anaheim police, it happened around 3:15 a.m. on January 24. According to a statement from the department, at that time officers were dispatched to the 200 block of E. Wakefield Avenue, near Gene Autry Way, for reports of a shooting.

Upon arrival, police learned that a man had collapsed on the porch of an apartment building and was found with a gunshot wound.

Paramedics rushed the victim, since identified as 49-year-old Marcy Aguilar, to a hospital where he later died.

Investigators are still working to determine what prompted the shooting and identify a suspect.

“Due to the ongoing nature of the investigation, no specific details can be released at this time,” APD said in a statement.

They believe there are more witnesses to the incident with information that could help them continue their investigation.
