Authorities arrested four suspects in armed robbery after a high-speed chase across the country.
Bakersfield police said the armed robbery took place outside a shopping center in the city on Friday. Fortunately for the victim, they were able to get a solid description of the car, which allowed officers to identify it on the SR-99 Freeway.
Officers began pursuing the suspects on SR-99 before it turned onto the I-5 Freeway.
The California Highway Patrol took over the pursuit, which continued south to Newhall. The suspects then exited the highway and jumped out of the car outside a nearby farm.
The suspects began to walk along a path, past cows while keeping an eye on officers. The suspects evaded authorities for a short time. However, within the hour, officers were surrounding the four suspects.
While one of them tried to run away into the bushes, the other three surrendered and lay down on the ground awaiting orders from the officers.
All four were taken into custody.
