Bill Gates discusses the public interest of AI with India’s Modi and engages local leaders in health, technology and innovation

Bill Gatesthe co-founder of Microsoftrecently made an illuminating visit to India, during which he held discussions with the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and a large number of ministers on a variety of crucial topics.

What happened? Gates, known for his philanthropic efforts and keen interest in global healthcare and technology, found his conversation with Prime Minister Modi particularly inspiring. The duo delved into how Artificial Intelligence (AI) can serve public good, women-led development and innovations in agriculture, healthcare and climate adaptation, with the aim of sharing India’s success stories with the world.

He met with the Minister of Health Mansukh Mandaviya to discuss improving healthcare through digital innovations and affordable diagnostics, emphasizing a common goal of combating tuberculosis, sickle cell anemia and maternal poverty by leveraging Indian research and technology.

The technology mogul also spent time with ministers Hardeep Singh Puri And Rajeev Chandrasekharand entrepreneurs love it Zomato‘S Deepinder Goyal, to explore ongoing partnerships and opportunities for future collaboration. Gates highlighted India’s growth story as a beacon of collective effort and cross-sector collaboration in tackling global challenges.

His meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs S Jaishankar covered India’s chairmanship of the G20 and broader issues such as DPI, healthcare, education and women’s economic empowerment.

Gates’ optimistic attitude towards India is reflected in his admiration for the country’s economic growth, innovation and leadership in vaccine production, pointing to a hopeful outlook for India’s role in global progress on healthcare.
