PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Bryce Harper returns to the lineup Monday night as the Philadelphia Phillies have a three-game series against the Cincinnati Reds at Citizensbank Park. Harper missed Sunday’s game with what the team had suffered planned day off.

Harper crashed hard into the photographer’s well during the Phillies’ 12-4 loss Saturday to the Atlanta Braves while chasing a foul ball. Harper stayed in the match, but had a cut on his left finger.

Phillies manager Rob Thomson said before Sunday 5-4 win over the Braves that Harper would already have a maintenance day.

“He didn’t play much in the spring and that’s when he catches the eye,” Thomson said.

After the Phils’ win Sunday, Harper said he was ready for Monday’s series opener against Cincinnati.

“I don’t think what happened yesterday really has any value for today,” Harper said. “I’m definitely looking forward to getting back on the road tomorrow.”
