Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Russell Gage is out for the season after suffering a serious knee injury during Wednesday’s joint practice against the New York Jets, according to a report from ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler.
The 27-year-old attacker was sent off after suffering a non-contact injury. After practice ended, head coach Todd Bowles told reporters that the team was not expecting a positive update.
“We hear it’s going to get pretty serious,” Bowles said at a press conference on Wednesday. “He’s been fighting back for the last time – it obviously seems that since he’s been here. We wish him the best, I can tell from the way he was on the truck that it’s probably something that’s happened pretty bad. Our hearts go out to him and we’ll see how it goes.”
