A burglary suspect was taken into custody early Monday morning after attempting to break into a Sun Valley home, exchanging shots with the homeowner in the process.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, officers were dispatched to the 10000 block of Olivia Terrace at around 7:55 a.m. after learning of shooting in the area.
Upon arrival, they learned that a man had broken into a house in the area and exchanged gunshots with the homeowner. He fled the area after the shooting.
Officers eventually located the man. He was hospitalized for trouble breathing, police said. His condition remains unclear.
