Li Yuehong has won the men’s 25m rapid fire pistol, becoming the first Chinese to win an Olympic gold medal in this event.

The 34-year-old finished with a score of 32 ahead of South Korean Cho Yeongjae, who scored 25, and compatriot Wang Xinjie with 23.

Yuehong’s victory follows his bronze medal at Tokyo 2020 and his victory at last year’s World Championships, where he scored 39 points to set a new world record.
