Wear plenty of layers if you go out today as it will be very windy and cold.
Temperatures will remain around 20 degrees all day, but wind gusts of up to 60 km/h will make it feel like it’s in the single digits at times.
Armstrong, Butler, Indiana and Lawrence counties are under a winter weather advisory until 7 a.m. Friday. A Lake Effect snow warning is in effect for the I-80 corridor until Friday at 1 p.m. Mountain ridges in Westmoreland and Fayette counties are under a winter storm warning until 7 a.m. Friday.
Lake effect snow showers will continue on and off throughout the day, especially north of Pittsburgh and east into higher elevations, where several inches of snow will accumulate. Later this afternoon and evening, a new wave of snow showers will move over the rest of the area and provide a fresh layer of snow.
The snow showers will end during the day on Friday.
