Dak Prescott blames himself for the “silly” interception

Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott blamed his own two interceptions for his team’s loss to the 49ers on Sunday night.

When asked what he needs to do better, Prescott said, “Don’t turn the ball over, period.”

Prescott said a big jump interception by San Francisco’s Ji’Ayir Brown should never have happened and that Prescott should have thrown it away if he couldn’t get it to receiver CeeDee Lamb.

“I don’t have to be perfect, but I sure as hell can’t have the turnovers,” Prescott said. ‘I just have to eat that, get that bag. The second was as stupid of an interception as I’ve felt. I’m trying to make a play, too much confidence in myself. I wish I would have put more heat on it so it would have been to CeeDee or off the track. That one hurts, when you start the third quarter like that, they were able to get a touchdown there, you look at the end of the score, a touchdown is the difference. Once again we have put ourselves behind in the turnover battle, and that can’t be on me if we are playing to win games, and I have to clean that up.

Prescott now has eight interceptions in seven games this season and is on pace to set a new career-high with 19 interceptions this season. Prescott’s right, he needs to clean that up.
