LAS VEGAS – UFC CEO [autotag]Dana White[/autotag] was astonished by [autotag]Merab Dvalishvili[/autotag]decision-making on Tuesday.
After suffering a cut to his face 25 days before his upcoming UFC 306 title fight against Sean O’Malley, Dvalishvili (17-4 MMA, 10-2 UFC) posted multiple video clips of the slice to social media.
White was so outraged by the decision that he even complimented his boxing performance during Tuesday’s post-fight press conference at Dana White’s Contender Series 68.
“The whole world knows about Merab’s cut,” White told MMA Junkie and other reporters. “He posted it. Our guys are so dumb, it’s unbelievable. All I’ll say about boxing, what I’ll give boxing, is if something happens in a fight, man, let me tell you what. It doesn’t leak. Our guys can’t f*cking wait to throw it on social media. It’s a small cut. It’s no big deal. But it had to be posted, obviously.
“…Why the f*ck would you want him to know that? It’s next-level stupid. Some of these guys are so stupid it’s mind-boggling. It’s unbelievable.”
As the footage and video of the clip went viral, Dvalishvili attempted to calm speculation by assuring that the fight was not in jeopardy, a claim his manager Oren Hodak reiterated to MMA Junkie on Tuesday.

Shortly after White’s comments on Tuesday, Dvalishvili took to Instagram to say he was back in the gym for what he said was his third training session of the day.
UFC 306, also known as Noche UFC, takes place on September 14 and marks the promotion’s highly anticipated debut at the Sphere in Las Vegas. Dvalishvili vs. O’Malley (18-1 MMA, 10-1 UFC) is the main event of the card.
