The weather in NYC today is freezing
CBS News New York
Yesterday it was cold and today it will be even colder.
The area woke up this morning to widespread wind chills. Unfortunately, we will hardly get any relief this afternoon as temperatures remain stuck in the teens. And you guessed it: because of the wind it will never feel like this: 10° if we are lucky.
CBS News New York
Some clouds will isolate the area somewhat tonight, especially south and east of the city where they may even see some flakes. Nevertheless, it will be another frigid night with widespread chills.
When will temperatures start to warm up?
CBS News New York
Tomorrow there will be a slight improvement in that high pressure will keep winds fairly light. But we’re only aiming for around 19° for a high, so it will be bitterly cold either way.
Then we will be stuck in the freezer on Thursday, but the temperature will be about 10° warmer. So a small improvement.
Fortunately, temperatures will continue to moderate until the weekend.
The bottom line is that it will be cold and sometimes dangerously cold, so you will need to dress in layers and be mindful of exposed skin.
