MINNEAPOLIS – A dense fog advisory is in effect across Minnesota until Friday afternoon, and early isolated showers are possible ahead of widespread rain later this afternoon and evening.
This shouldn’t cause too many travel problems as temperatures remain around 40 degrees for most of the day. However, dense fog will be a bit more problematic with visibility down to a quarter mile across most of Minnesota.
Rain should taper off through Saturday afternoon, with any change in snow limited to northern Minnesota.
Rain amounts will likely be between a quarter inch and a half inch, with less in western Minnesota.
Temperatures will remain mild through the weekend with highs in the low 40s through Sunday and lows in the low 30s.
Another system will attempt to move in early next week but should remain south of the Twin Cities, ushering in a colder pattern (highs in the 20s) to start 2025.
