(CBS DETROIT) – A Detroit restaurant, Coney Island, that previously suffered from rodent problems three years ago temporarily closed Friday, the Detroit Health Department said.
City officials say Lafayette Coney Island has been voluntarily closed “until all violations are corrected, including an action plan to prevent future violations.”
“During this closure, the restaurant will undergo a deep cleaning and address all structural issues, including permanently sealing all exterior openings,” the department said in a statement. “Our priority is to protect public health and ensure the establishment meets all safety standards before reopening. We appreciate the cooperation of Lafayette Coney Island as we work together to protect the well-being of Detroit residents and visitors.”
