Former President Donald Trump urged his supporters Friday evening to vote early in the November election, telling them to get their “fat pig” husbands off the couch.
The Republican candidate spoke at a rally in Detroit, Michigan, where early voting was set to begin the next day.
“There is early voting, so get everyone you know together and vote. Go tomorrow, it’s just starting, go vote,” he said. “Make sure you vote and bring all our friends who want to vote for us.”
“Tell them, ‘Jill, get your fat man off the couch, get that fat pig off the couch,’” he continued. “Tell him to vote for Trump, he will save our country.”
“Get him up, Jill, smack him around, get him up!” he added.
He made a few other notable comments at his events in Detroit, the largest city in a crucial swing state.
The GOP nominee was criticized last week for making offensive comments about the city during a speech at the Detroit Economic Club.
“Our whole country will end up looking like Detroit if she is your president,” he said of his opponent, Vice President Kamala Harris. “You’ll have a mess on your hands.”
Harris responded to Trump’s comments, slamming him for destroying “another great American city.”
She said his speech to the Detroit Economic Club is “just one more piece of evidence on a very long list of why he is unfit to be president of the United States,” The Associated Press reported.
Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer (D) told Trump on X, formerly Twitter, to “keep Detroit out of your mouth.”
