BREWER, NY — Dramatic video shows firefighters rescuing a man trapped in a mine in Brewster, New York.
Fire officials said the man and four friends went exploring the closed mine Sunday evening and became stuck on a lower ledge.
The man’s friends tried to get him out for hours before firefighters were lowered into the mine to mount the rescue operation.
The man was brought to safety shortly after midnight on Monday. He was not injured.
