Draymond, Moody hilariously teases Steph’s mentorship method originally appeared on NBC Sports Bay Area
Draymond Green and Moses Moody love how Steph Curry advises young Warriors players, even if they find it somewhat funny.
Moody and Green explained how Curry will give you his undivided attention during practice.
“That man will give you the most profound answer,” Green told Moody and Baron Davis on “The Draymond Green Show.” “He guides you every step of the way. We could be at practice, [someone] goes to him for advice. We moved on to the next exercise and he’s still standing there in the corner just talking to them. We’re all standing in the group watching him, waiting for him to stop.’
“And it is also one on one. He doesn’t do it in front of everyone,” Moody told Green and Davis.
“Like, he’s talking to you, no one else has any idea what you’re talking about. It’s very quiet there,” Green explained.
His teammates have long praised Curry’s mentorship style, as the Golden State superstar consistently tries to lift everyone else up. Since Steve Kerr took over as head coach in 2014, the Warriors have taken the mantra of “Strength in Numbers” to heart.
While Curry and Green have powered Golden State’s dynasty over the past decade, plenty of key players have also made an impact.
As the team looks to continue its strong start to the season, Moody, along with Bradin Podziemski, Trayce Jackson-Davis and Jonathan Kuminga, form a formidable young core eager to learn from Curry.
Golden State’s youth movement is performing well so far this season, with a deep Warriors rotation racing to a 7-1 record in eight games.
Part of that is due to Curry’s deep mentorship of Moody and the rest of the team.
