Draymond trolls Nurkić for suspension, scuffle with Marshall originally appeared on NBC Sports Bay Area
The battle between Draymond Green and Jusuf Nurkić will likely continue until the end of time.
Or at least until they both stop doing things that will get them in trouble with the NBA.
Until that happens, they will continue to chirp and mock each other, just like Green did after Nurkić was hit with a three-game suspension for a recent altercation with Naji Marshall during the Phoenix Suns-Dallas Mavericks game.
“I didn’t really understand it, he just grabbed an argument out of nowhere and then waved,” Green said on the latest episode of “The Draymond Green Show with Baron Davis.” ‘But I hope that brother got the help he needed.
“Man, it just came out of nowhere like there was something wrong in life to just go back and wave like that. But when I got pushed to the ground and grabbed his face, I was really shocked.”
The scuffle occurred when Nurkić was called for an offensive foul while being guarded by Daniel Gafford, with the altercation quickly escalating. Nurkić confronted Marshall before waving open hands at his head, with Marshall responding with a punch.
PJ Washington quickly pushed Nurkić to the ground before the teams were separated and all three players involved were ruled out of Dallas’ eventual 98–89 win.
The NBA suspended Marshall for four games and Nurkić for three.
Of course, Green’s comments make a mockery of what Nurkić said when they had their own feud in 2023. When the Warriors and Suns played each other in December 2023, Green punched Nurkić in the face and was assessed a 12-game penalty. suspension for repeated conduct.
After that drama-filled game, Nurkić’s comments to reporters went viral and have now backfired on the Suns big man.
“I don’t know what’s going on with him,” Nurkić said. ‘Personally, I feel like that brother needs help. I’m glad he didn’t try to strangle me.’
The two have gone back and forth since that incident, with Green now having the last laugh.
“Nurkić, stop attacking people,” said Green’s co-host and former Warriors guard Baron Davis. “You don’t like that.”
Given the history of the feud, it’s only a matter of time before Nurkić responds. And fans may not have to wait that long, as the Warriors host the Suns on Jan. 31 at Chase Center.
