Early taste of fall this week in the Philadelphia region as temperatures drop

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — There’s a taste of fall in the air! You’ll want to grab your sweaters if you’re heading outside in the coming mornings, as cool, dry air sweeps in from Canada. It’ll feel more like late September than mid-August this week, with afternoon temperatures only dipping into the mid-70s and cool breezes blowing through the day.

Highs through Thursday will remain in the 70s, with morning lows Wednesday through Friday in the 50s — even in the 40s in the Poconos. It’s a crisp, clear stretch of sunshine that will last into the weekend.

Fear not, summer lovers! The weekend is set to warm up a bit. Seasonal temperatures will once again be in the mid to upper 80s, followed by a few days in the 90s.

As for showers and thunderstorms, Mother Nature will be kind to us and keep us dry for the time being, thanks to a high pressure area that dominates our area.

The NEXT Weather team is here to help you and your family plan and prepare for severe weather events.

Right now we don’t see any significant weather in the near future. It’s the opposite — beautiful conditions. The next chance for showers won’t be until Tuesday of next week, so enjoy!
