Patrick and Brittany Mahomes’ home is now filled with three children under the age of 5!
The couple, who have been married since 2022, share two daughters and a son: Sterling Skye Mahomes, 3, Patrick “Bronze” Lavon Mahomes III, 2, and Golden Raye Mahomes, born January 12, 2025.
Before welcoming their third child, the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback spoke to reporters in July about their growing family, revealing that he predicts they will remain a family of five.
Brittany, Bronze and Sterling (in dad’s arms) celebrate the Super Bowl victory with MVP Patrick Mahomes.
“I’m done, that’s what I’m saying. No. 3 – I said three, and I’m done,” the 29-year-old Super Bowl champion said with a smile at the time, causing reporters to laugh.
“No, it’s great. I always wanted to have kids young. I had to grow up in the locker room,” he continued, referring to his father, former Major League pitcher Patrick Mahomes Sr. “I think I’ve talked about it before, and it had such an impact on my life.”

Sterling Skye Mahomes
Sterling Skye Mahomes was born on February 20, 2021.
Before her birth, the quarterback and his then-fiancée announced they were expecting their first child on September 29, 2020, just weeks after he proposed at Arrowhead Stadium.
“Mom and Dad, taking a little detour to the wedding❤️,” Brittany wrote on Instagram at the time. The couple used their dogs – Steel and Silver – for their gender reveal.
The couple announced the arrival of their first child with matching Instagram posts, featuring a photo of the newborn holding her parents’ fingers, while mom Brittany Mahomes wore a sparkling nameplate necklace that read “Sterling.”
During the first days of Sterling’s arrival, her parents kept her face hidden.
“At first we obviously wanted to keep things private and not have her there,” Patrick Mahomes told TODAY in 2021. “As we started doing different things and she started getting a little bit older, being on the road, it almost became like it’s a burden to have to hide her at all times when we do things, and this coming season we want her to be at the games and not have to worry about having to keep her hidden all the time.
In 2021, the family celebrated Sterling’s first birthday with an epic birthday party that included a cotton candy machine, balloon arch and custom decor.
Sterling regularly appears at Kansas City Chiefs football games with her mother and extended family members.
Patrick Mahomes celebrates with family after beating the Cincinnati Bengals in the 2023 AFC Championship Game.
In February 2024, Brittany Mahomes posted a video of Sterling’s birthday party with the caption: “We celebrated our Sterling Skye today!✨ I can’t even believe we’ll have a three year old in just a few days! Time flies when you’re having fun! We love you, baby girl!”
Could the birthday girl be any cuter?
The party included teacups, fairy wings, slides, a watermelon/butterfly/flower cake, a spinny ride, live butterflies and a bouncy castle with Sterling’s name on it.
Sip, sip, hurray!
Patrick Mahomes, who clearly adores his daughter, posted photos with the caption: “Happy 3rd birthday to Sterling Skye! You are my 💙! Stop growing up so fast!!”
Sterling, sitting on her mother’s lap, is about to make a wish as Bronze and Patrick watch from behind.
And of course, the couple’s son, Patrick “Bronze” Lavon, was there to share in the fun.
Patrick “Bronze” Lavon Mahomes III
Patrick “Bronze” Lavon Mahomes III was born on November 28, 2022.
Months earlier, in May 2022, the couple announced on Instagram that their family was growing and that Sterling would become a big sister.
“Round 2,” they wrote next to family photos of their little girl holding up a sign that read, “Big sister duties coming up.”
Sterling wore a shirt that read “I have a secret to tell you” for the family announcement.
In June 2022, the couple shared the gender of their second child in a sweet Instagram video. In the clip, the duo squirted water guns filled with blue liquid, indicating a boy.
The high school sweethearts announced Bronze’s arrival the same way they announced his sister’s, using nameplate jewelry.
“Patrick ‘Bronze’ Lavon Mahomes III 🤴🏽11/28/22 7lbs 8oz,” the couple captioned their joint announcement.
During a November 30, 2022 press conference, the NFL quarterback revealed his excitement about naming a son.
“I always wanted to play Patrick Lavon Mahomes III. I’ve been thinking about that since I was literally 5 or 6 years old. I always thought it was going to be ‘Trey’ in third.”
Patrick Mahomes attributed his son’s nickname to his brother Jackson.
“He said, ‘What about Bronze? It fits Sterling perfectly, so that’s what we went with,” said Patrick Mahomes. “It works out well.”
While the couple took the same approach to covering up their newborn’s face in the early days, Bronze has since appeared on mom Brittany Mahomes’ Instagram Story, including a heartwarming moment between siblings.
Brittany Mahomes shared the sweet brother-sister moment on her Instagram stories of Sterling smiling at brother Bronze on December 3, 2022.
“She is obsessed and loving her new role,” Brittany Mahomes wrote on a photo of Sterling smiling at brother Bronze on December 3, 2022.
Golden Raye Mahomes
Patrick and Brittany Mahomes announced that they were expecting their third child with a video on Instagram on July 12.
“Round three, here we come,” the caption read.
For the unveiling, the family wore white and cream-colored outfits as they smiled and showed photos of Brittany Mahomes’ black-and-white ultrasound scan.
A week later, Patrick and Brittany Mahomes shared in a joint Instagram post that they were having another girl.
“Baby Mahomes #3 is a….💙🩷” the two teased in the caption.
The post showed their eldest daughter, Sterling, taking part in the big reveal. Sterling helped turn the slots of an oversized tic-tac-toe board to reveal three pink X’s in a row.
Their third child was born on January 12, 2025. They announced her arrival in a joint Instagram post and shared her name, continuing their metallic theme.
“Golden Raye Mahomes” 1/12/25, they wrote next to a black and white photo of them cradling the newborn’s tiny feet.
A theme when it comes to naming?
It certainly seems like the Mahomes have found their groove when it comes to naming their children, keeping all of their children’s names in the metal theme, as well as their two dogs: Steel and Silver.
During a November 30, 2022 press conference, the NFL quarterback explained more about the name theme.
“When Brittany and I got Sterling, we didn’t know if it was a girl or a boy at first, so we started thinking about girl and boy names,” he said at the time. “We wanted them to have that connection and be brother and sister forever.”
He developed son Bronze’s nickname.
“He can have his own thing now, where he’s not Patrick, he’s Bronze, even though he’s Patrick. Then Sterling and Bronze can take that connection further.”
Now Golden Raye has the connection too!
