It is official. Khloé Kardashian has legally changed the name of the 1-year-old son she shares with ex Tristan Thompson from Baby Kardashian to Tatum Thompson.
People reports that a Los Angeles court granted permission on Thursday The Kardashians star’s request – a step required by California law. Kardashian was insecure when her son, the younger brother of her 5-year-old daughter True, was born via surrogate. She revealed during the second season premiere of the family’s reality show that aired in September 2022 that her newest addition would be named Tatum.
“Naming a human being is very difficult,” Khloé said in the episode.
And she should know. Her family has practiced a lot.
Here’s our handy list of what each KarJenner kid is called and why.
Tatum Thompson
Parents: Khloe Kardashian and Tristan Thompson
Born: August 2022
Khloé noted that her son physically resembled her brother Rob, but she wanted his name to start with a T, like his big sister True and his father, whose relationship with Khloé ended after a cheating scandal in December 2021.
Aire Webster
Parents: Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott
Born: February 2, 2022
The youngest Kardashian-Jenner sister revealed days after giving birth to a son that his name was Wolf, a nickname that had become popular among celebrities. Rapper Eve chose it for her newborn son the same month. Zooey Deschanel and Lauren Conrad, as well as Jason Momoa and Lisa Bonet, had chosen it as their middle name.
But Jenner later said the parents changed it because they “just didn’t feel like it was him.” In January 2023, as the baby approached his first birthday, Jenner said the parents had settled on Aire, which she confirmed on social media as “air.” A source told the family’s former network, E!, that the name means “lion of God.”
Psalm West
Parents: Kim Kardashian and Kanye West
Born: May 9, 2019
“The inspiration was the Book of Psalms in the Bible,” revealed Kim’s mom, Kris Jenner AND right after he was born. “I think it’s just a wonderful way to celebrate how they feel. And he’s such a blessing, so it’s perfect.”
True Thompson
Parents: Khloe Kardashian and Tristan Thompson
Born: April 12, 2018
Khloé’s mother explained on Twitter that the name is one with deep family roots, as both her grandfather and father shared.
Stormy Webster
Parents: Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott
Born: February 1, 2018
Although the youngest Kardashian-Jenner sister didn’t share her reasons for choosing the name Stormi, says baby name expert and The baby name wizard author Laura Wattenberg told Yahoo Entertainment it’s a “surprisingly retro name choice.”
Chicago West
Parents: Kim Kardashian and Kanye West
Born: January 15, 2018
The non-Kardashian side of Chicago’s family has deep roots in the city it is named after. Kanye grew up there, with his late mother Donda by his side, and he rapped about his “Chi-town.” We got a sense of how important the city still is to him in December 2016 when he met President-elect Donald Trump to talk about the problem of violence there.
Dream Renee Kardashian
Parents: Rob Kardashian and Blac Chyna
Born: November 10, 2016
Blac Chyna (née Angela Renée White) gave her middle name to her descendants. Rob chose according to his daughter’s first name We weekly right after she was born. “Dream was Rob’s favorite name because it was always his dream to have a baby,” a source told the magazine.
Saint West
Parents: Kim Kardashian and Kanye West
Born: December 5, 2015
Kim struggled with her first pregnancy and trying to conceive again. That’s what a Kardashian insider told me We weekly a month before the baby was born, Kimye – then still together – already called their son ‘saint’, because he was a miracle baby.
Reign Aston Disick
Parents: Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick
Born: December 14, 2014
Reign (or Rain) would always be the name of someone in the Kardashian family, as Kourtney told People in April 2015. “I actually had the name on our list with Mason,” she said. “Then Penelope was on the list, but then I spelled RAIN.” Kourtney reconsidered Rain as her third child, which she expected to be a girl, and ended up using Reign when it was a boy.
North West
Parents: Kim Kardashian and Kanye West
Born: June 15, 2013
Nori, as North is nicknamed, would have been called something else if it weren’t for the musician Pharrell Fashion editor-in-chief Anna Wintour. “I remember that’s actually where we ended up choosing North as the name for our baby girl,” Kim told British GQ at the Mercer Hotel in New York City in October 2014. “It was a rumor in the press and we never really considered it seriously, but Kanye and I were sitting there having lunch at that table about a year ago and Pharrell came up to us and said, “Oh my God, are you really going to name your daughter North? That’s the best name.” I said, ‘No, that’s not true, that’s just a rumor.’ A little while later, Anna Wintour came by and asked the same thing, telling us, “North is a brilliant name.” Kanye and I looked at each other and just smiled. I think it kind of stuck at that point.”
Penelope Scotland Disick
Parents: Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick
Born: July 8, 2012
Kris Jenner was clearly too proud of her newborn granddaughter to keep quiet about how she got her name. As Jenner told E! News the month Penelope was born, Kourtney and Scott just loved it. Kris’ mother was the one who suggested ‘Scotland’.
Mason Dash Disick
Parents: Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick
Born: December 14, 2009
Kourtney has explained that Mason was an easy name choice for her son. “The first time I started looking at baby names, Mason was the only one I liked,” she shared Life and style in January 2010. “It was the only one that stayed with me. Right before he was born, I told my aunt that we were thinking about using that name as a name. She told me that Mason means the same thing as Kardashian in English. Armenian – stone worker. Another aunt told me that my great-uncle used the name Mason when he made dinner reservations because Kardashian was too tall. When I heard that, I thought, ‘Oh my God, it had to be.'”
Kourtney rejected the suggestion that “Dash” be in the baby’s name in honor of her business venture. “Dash is not for my clothing store as some people have suggested online,” she said. ‘That would be stupid. Dash is short for Kardashian and it was my father’s nickname.”
