It’s an odd start to the 2024 NFL season, with scoring dropping across the league in the first two weeks, as The 33rd Team’s Steve Palazzolo notes:
Touchdowns in two weeks:
2019: 105
2020: 110
2021: 110
2022: 105
2023: 86
2024: 66**Pending MNF

This has led to a wide variety of streaming options on defense (the preferred strategy in D/ST for managers looking to get on the waiver wire during the season).

There’s also the fact that we haven’t quite figured out which defenses are good in general, which makes streaming options all the more interesting. For example, is this Minnesota Vikings defense under Brian Flores the real deal? After two weeks, they’re the highest-scoring fantasy defense, just ahead of the Chicago Bears and Pittsburgh Steelers. At least a big name D/ST like the Bills is in the top five.
