A single-vehicle crash at an intersection near Oxnard turned fatal Saturday morning.
According to reports from the California Highway Patrol and the Ventura County Fire Department, the crash was reported around 9:10 a.m. at Rice Avenue and Channel Islands Boulevard. The site is surrounded by agricultural fields just east of the city limits.
According to radio traffic at the scene, the car crashed into a utility pole.

No other information was immediately available. Authorities called for Edison crews from Southern California to repair the damaged pole.
