A fire broke out on Tuesday at the Dallas Cowboys team hotel in Oxnard, California, the site of the team’s training camp.
There were no injuries in the fire.
Local media videos show smoke billowing from an apartment at the Oxnard Residence Inn, where the Cowboys are staying during their roughly month-long training camp. The team was conducting a walkthrough at the time of the fire and continued to practice while firefighters were on the scene.

Head coach Mike McCarthy told reporters after practice that no one was injured in the fire. The Cowboys later released a statement saying the fire was contained to one room and thanked emergency responders for extinguishing it.
“There was a fire this afternoon in one of the guest rooms at the team’s hotel in Oxnard, California.” the statement reads“The emergency was contained to one room, which was unoccupied at the time, and there were no injuries. The Dallas Cowboys would like to thank the Oxnard Fire Department and Oxnard Police Department for their quick response to the situation.”
Further details about the fire were initially unclear. Neither officials nor the Cowboys spoke about the cause of the fire. It is unclear whether the fire was in a room where a Cowboys player or staff member was staying.
The Cowboys traveled as a team to Oxnard on July 23 and held their first training camp on July 25. They will hold their final practice in Oxnard on Thursday before traveling home to host the Los Angeles Chargers in their final exhibition game on Saturday.
The Cowboys will then complete their pre-season training at the team’s facility in Frisco, Texas, in preparation for their season opener on September 8 at the Cleveland Browns.
