First Alert Weather: Red Alert for possible severe thunderstorms, risk of tornado

warning: Alert red for a few showers this morning, then a chance of strong to severe thunderstorms later this afternoon and evening.

Advices: High rip current risk along New York’s southern beaches.

Prediction: There will be some showers this morning, later this afternoon and evening we will see a chance for some strong to severe thunderstorms. Any storms that develop can bring damaging winds, hail, and even an isolated tornado.

Expect some rain/thunderstorms for the rest of the night with some clearance during the night. As for tomorrow, there’s still a chance of showers/thunderstorms, but nothing quite as organized as today/tonight. Expect highs in the low 80s.

Looking forward: Wednesday we take a break with mostly sunny skies and less humid conditions. Expect peaks in the mid-80s.

Thursday starts well, but later in the day and at night a chance of thunderstorms. On Friday it is trending drier, but we will leave with a chance of rain / thunderstorms for the time being.
