Food distributions announced in March

St. Joseph County residents in need of supplemental food can pick up a food box at one of several community food distributions.

The South Michigan Food Bank’s first distribution will take place on March 12 at 4 p.m. at Centerville Seventh Day Adventist Church, 23683 M-86, in Centerville. A complimentary ride to and from the property is available through the St. Joseph County Transportation Authority, subject to availability.

First Presbyterian Church in Sturgis, 1320 S. Lakeview Ave., will distribute additional food boxes beginning March 14 at 4 p.m. Beginning March 16 at 9 a.m., The Huss Project at 1008 8th St., in Three Rivers, will distribute food boxes until supplies run out.

The White Pigeon Schools campus, 410 Prairie Ave., will be the site of a food distribution on March 19 at 3:30 p.m. The White Pigeon event date has been moved due to the local spring break schedule.

Those in the Burr Oak area can visit Railroad Park for a box of food on March 20 at 4 p.m. Gateway Village Apartments, 409 Gateway Court, in Sturgis, will host a distribution on March 21 at 10:30 a.m., followed by a giveaway at Colon High School, 400 Dallas St., in Colon, at 4:30 p.m. the same day.
