Former Rangers striker to miss entire season with serious neck injury

Former New York Rangers forward Jesper Fast has undergone neck surgery and will be out for the entire 2024-25 season.

Fast signed with the Carolina Hurricanes in 2020 and has been with the team ever since, playing a significant role in their incredible success over the past few seasons.

The 32-year-old forward suffered the serious neck injury during the Hurricanes’ final regular season game against the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Last season, Fast scored six goals, had 13 assists and had 19 points while averaging 12:36 minutes played.

The Rangers selected Fast in the sixth round of the 2010 NHL Draft. He played seven seasons in New York, scoring 55 goals, 92 assists and 147 points.
