(Reuters) – Former RTX CEO Gregory Hayes will resign as executive chairman and member of the board of directors, said the Aerospace and Defense Major Monday.
Hayes remains an employee of RTX as a special adviser for CEO Christopher Calio, who will take on the role of chairman of the council, the company said.
The transition will be in force on April 30, 2025, the company said, adding that the role of Hayes as a special adviser will run until January 2, 2026.
Hayes became CEO of RTX – formerly Raytheon – in 2020 after his merger with United Technologies, where he also had the role of Chief Executive. He was an executive chairman of the board since May.
Calio, who succeeded Hayes last year as CEO, was previously President and Chief Operating Officer at RTX, for which he held leadership positions at motor maker Pratt & Whitney.
