Regional gas prices fell for the second week in a row, reaching an average of $2.95 per gallon of regular fuel Monday, down from last week’s price of $2.97 per gallon, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration.
The average fuel price in the Lower Atlantic region has fallen by about 19 cents since last month. Gas prices in the region last year were as low as $2.88 on December 18, 2023, and as low as $3.66 on August 7, 2023, according to the EIA.
A year ago, the average gas price in the Lower Atlantic region was 14% higher at $3.43 per gallon.

The average gas price in the United States last week was $3.19, making prices in the Lower Atlantic region about 7.3% lower than the national average. The average national gas price increased from last week’s average of $3.18 per gallon.
The U.S. Energy Information Administration’s price overview of the lower Atlantic states includes Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia and West Virginia.
