Giants 2025 NFL Mock Draft Roundup: Could New York trade up for QB or take the best available spot at No. 3?

The Giants enter the 2025 NFL draft with the third overall pick.

After a 3-14 season, how will New York use its first-round pick?

Here’s what the experts have the Giants doing.

Chris Trapasso, CBS Sports

QB Cam Ward, Miami (via trade with Tennessee Titans to No. 1)

We all saw on “Hard Knocks” how bad Giants GM is Joe Schoen tried going up to select Drake Maye last year. This time, he makes no mistake in acquiring the quarterback he wants.

QB Shedeur Sanders, Colorado (via trade with Cleveland Browns to No. 2)

General manager Joe Schoen and head coach Brian Daboll are informed. Co-owner Johannes Mara made that abundantly clear during his meeting with the media after the season. He also emphasized the need to get a franchise quarterback. The only way to guarantee that: trade up.

There’s a chance this choice isn’t even on sale. The Browns announced a setback the day after their season ended Deshaun Watson‘s Achilles. His status for next season is up in the air. If that’s the case, maybe they can sit here and bring Sanders themselves. However, the Giants’ offer is too good to pass up.

New York sends Cleveland No. 3 and a third-round pick this draft, and then their first-round pick next year.

CB/WR Travis Hunter, Colorado

If the Giants are unable to move up for Ward, would they want Shedeur Sanders enough to draft him at No. 3? In this scenario, they don’t do that and instead take arguably the best player in the draft. Hunter would give New York an upgrade at corner — and he’d be a nice weapon for Brian Daboll to blend into the offense for the Giants’ quarterback.

EDGE Abdul Carter, Penn State

Carter is an extremely dominant edge rusher. He is the top one in the draft. Sure, the Giants have already done that Brian Brands And Kayvon Thibodeauxbut can you make a good tackle here? They would like to go down, but who is going up?

QB Shedeur Sanders, Colorado

The Giants can take advantage of the Titans and Browns not being ideally favored Deion Sanders‘ son. Shedeur can give them a precise, accurate pass upfield that fits well with Brian Daboll as he works with young playmakers like Malik Nabers, Wan’Dale Robinson, Tyrone Tracy Jr.And Theo Johnson.

CB/WR Travis Hunter, Colorado

The Giants foolishly won their way out of a quarterback, but maybe that just means they’ll tank Bow Manningas seen in my 2026 NFL Mock Draft In the meantime, New York needs to draft the best player available.

Travis Hunter has incredible athleticism and great size. He is an elite talent at both cornerback and receiver.
