Girl on bike killed by driver in south Minneapolis; No crime has been committed, police say

MINNEAPOLIS– A driver fatally hit a girl on a bicycle in south Minneapolis Monday morning, police said.

Minneapolis police did not identify the girl or state her age, but said she was a minor. The driver “immediately stopped and began rendering assistance” and “no crime is suspected,” police said.

The accident happened around 8:30 a.m. on the 5600 block of Second Avenue South

The girl was leaving the driveway on her bicycle when the driver hit her. She was taken to Hennepin Healthcare where she later died.

The crash is being investigated.
