Greater Cincinnati will see some light snow and freezing temperatures Saturday night

Walking your dog tonight? It’s better to bundle. Winter weather has officially begun in the Greater Cincinnati area, with wind chills in the single digits Saturday morning and a chance of snow accumulation Saturday evening.

The National Weather Service in Wilmington has issued a hazardous weather outlook for the region, including Hamilton, Clermont, Butler and Warren counties in Ohio and Boone, Kenton and Campbell counties in Northern Kentucky.

There is a chance of up to five centimeters of snow on Saturday night, the forecast said, and icy patches on the roads are likely. However, it is estimated that less than an inch of snow will fall in some areas.

According to AccuWeather, snow is expected to start in Greater Cincinnati around 9 p.m.

The National Weather Service said the wind chill was around 8 degrees Saturday morning in the Cincinnati and Covington area. With a low temperature of around 25 degrees Saturday night and a wind speed of 10 km per hour, it may feel like it will be 18 degrees later.

Saturday morning the wind chill in the Cincinnati area was in the single digits.

There is currently no more snow forecast for this week.

Sunday will be more of the same cold weather. The forecast maximum temperature is 33 degrees with a low of around 17 degrees on Sunday night. Winds will be between 5 and 8 miles per hour during the day.

Here are the temperatures for this week, according to the National Weather Service:

  • Monday: Mostly sunny with a high of 32 degrees and a low of 20 degrees.

  • Tuesday: Sunny with a maximum temperature around 35 degrees and low temperatures around 23 degrees.

  • Wednesday: Partly cloudy day with a high temperature around 42 degrees and a low temperature around 30 degrees.

  • Thursday: Mostly sunny with highs in the low 40s and lows in the low 20s.
