A Canal Winchester business will soon be hosting a vendor show that will benefit a local domestic violence shelter.
CEC Turf and Tractor will host the ‘Let Your Light Shine’ Holiday Market on Thursday, November 14 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the business located at 9449 Basil Western Road, Canal Winchester. There will be more than 25 vendors including clothing boutiques, vintage finds, handmade goods, food trucks and more. Proceeds will go to support the needs of The Lighthouse Domestic Violence Shelter in Fairfield County.
The services of the Lighthouse Domestic Violence Shelter in Fairfield County, Ohio are free and confidential. Services are available to any victim without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, national origin, age, disability, marital status, amnesty, or status as a covered veteran in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws, including victims of federal crimes.
The Lighthouse wants to be a safe zone and part of the visible network of LGBTQ allies. Services for LEP/Deaf/Hard of Hearing are available. Attorneys affiliated with The Lighthouse assist victims of DV/sexual assault through legal proceedings. They can also assist victims in obtaining protective orders for their own safety and will offer referrals to affordable legal services when they are available.
All of The Lighthouse’s services are free, confidential and available to everyone. The Lighthouse remains committed to being a safe zone and part of the visible network of LGBTQIA allies. LEP/Deaf/Hard of Hearing services are available to people who face language barriers by promoting access to communication.

CW Christmas
Dates have been set for Christmas in the Village, Canal Winchester’s annual Christmas celebration, which will take place in the city’s historic centre. The 18th Annual Canal Winchester Christmas Celebration, kicking off the holiday season in downtown Canal Winchester, will be held from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM on December 6 and 7.
A free public event, Christmas in the Village includes visits with Santa, a Christmas craft bazaar, a no-ice skating rink, children’s activities, a gingerbread house contest, Christmas music and much more! Santa arrives downtown each evening to kick off the event by officially lighting the Christmas tree in Stradley Park. Arrive early on Saturday, December 7 to see the BrockStrong Foundation Light up the Night Holiday Lights parade.
Many businesses, shops and restaurants in the city’s historic center offer special activities and attractions during Christmas in the Village, from visits with classic cartoon characters to special crafts or giveaways.
The weekend will also include activities at the Historical Complex (10 W. Oak St) as part of the Canal Winchester Area Historical Society’s Storybook Christmas: A Charlie Brown Christmas. Blood drive
The Knights of Columbus at the Immaculate Heart of the Virgin Mary Church in Lithopolis will host a Red Cross Blood Drive Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The church is located at 5170 Winchester Southern Road.
