The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a murder that happened late Saturday night.
Deputies responded to a person shot just after 9pm in the 300 block of Hatton Drive. When they arrived at the scene, they found a man in his 40s, dead after being shot multiple times.

Although early preliminary investigation shows that an argument led to the shooting.
Investigators on site told a Channel 2 Action news photographer that the victim was not involved in the altercation and that he may have been an innocent bystander who became a victim.

It’s unclear what sparked the altercation or what the altercation was about, officials said. There are no additional casualties.
The investigation is ongoing.
