Thanksgiving leftovers are tasty, but a lot of it ends up in trash bins. By one estimate, Americans threw away 316 million pounds of food on Thanksgiving. That waste will release thousands of tons of methane – enough to power 26,000 homes for a year. But composting the leftover food may provide a solution.
