Abbott Elementary returns from winter break tonight – and the regular crew has some company. In the latest episode, “Volunteers,” Abbott’s fellow Philadelphians visit for a special event. That’s right, it’s finally time for the Abbott Elementary And It’s always sunny in Philadelphia crossing! The cast of the long-running FX sitcom – Rob McElhenney, Glenn Howerton, Charlie Day, Danny DeVito and Kaitlin Olson – may be trained by Abbott Elementary’With Quinta Brunson, Tyler James Williams, Janelle James, Chris Perfetti, Lisa Ann Walter, William Stanford Davis and Sheryl Lee Ralph.
“These are two shows that take place in Philadelphia,” explained star and showrunner Brunson Live with Kelly and Mark. “We take place in West Philadelphia, they take place in the South, so it’s just really cool to bring them together. Our city is very diverse and (has) different pockets, but we’re in constant contact with each other and so This is such a perfect example of that on screen.”

The Abbott Elementary And It is always sunny episode titled “Volunteers” will be the Always sunny characters who were deployed as volunteers to ‘help’ the Abbott staff. It looks like Paddy’s entire crew – Rob McElhenney, Glenn Howerton, Charlie Day, Danny DeVito and Kaitlin Olson – will be in attendance at Abbott.
“I think we get a little wild on the show for them, but they handle us pretty well,” DeVito said People. “We had a great time. They are great people. It’s such a strange mix, so it’ll be fun.”
For those unfamiliar with the other sitcom set in Philly, Brunson notes that it has a very different atmosphere. In an interview on Live with Kelly and Mark, she notes that she is “a big fan of [It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia]but points out that “it’s a very different tone than Abbott’s.”
